NATIONAL POWER QUALITY PROJECT- www.guckalitesi.gen.tr
AIM OF THE PROJECT: To come up with novel, high technology, and application specific solutions in accordance with the new regulations, and the penalty limits difficult to attain concerning reactive energy consumptions, and current harmonics of large industrial plants.

Within this project, it is aimed at monitoring the parameters affecting Power Quality and Reactive Power Flows in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System, determining and evaluating the problems thereof, and implementing counter measures. The contract of the project has been signed and effectuated on March 1, 2006; and the period of the project defined in the contract is 3 years.
MISSION: By using the human resources and the information background in the country, the mission is to produce approaches, techniques and technologies which will be applied for improving Power Quality, and controling reactive power flows in such a way that power quality will be improved extensively and flexibly, in accordance with the changing conditions and future expectations in the country.
VISION: The vision is to put into practice in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System the most extensive power quality project carried out in the world, and to develop the most advanced technologies, which can be maintained, extended, and improved countrywide.
| GOALS |
To identify principles, approaches, hardware, and software requirements which will enable to monitor Power Quality parameters continuously in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System, and to carry out development activities accordingly,
To make reactive power and the energy flows in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System monitored,
To comply with the universal standards, increasing the quality of power in the Turkish Electricity Transmission System in the medium and long term, |
| |
To make TEİAŞ be able to apply the judgments of the "Electricity Market Network Regulation" dated 31.12.2003 and the "Regulation on Supply Reliability and Quality in Electricity Transmission System" dated 10.11.2004 gradually,
To contribute substantially to Turkey's needs concerning engineer and researcher potential specialized in the field of power quality in the medium and long term.
