
BILSAT-1 is a member of International Disaster Monitoring Constellation Consortium - DMC. This consortium aims to provide the imagery of a disaster zone anywhere over the globe as soon as possible, after a disaster strikes. By means of this imagery it is possible to acquire information about the impacts of the disaster. At present, four members operate their own satellites in orbit as a part of this consortium (BILSAT-1 -Turkey; UK-DMC -UK; ALSAT-1 -Algeria; NigeriaSat -Nigeria) however the satellites for some recent members are under construction and will be launched to DMC orbit soon.
DMC International Imaging (DMCII) is the central marketing portal for
the Disaster Monitoring Constellation Consortium, co-ordinating the
international exploitation of all the data from all DMC Member
